"We stayed for a week at La Zebra in a beachfront room with a private pool, and it was absolutely beautiful! The room was gorgeous, light and airy, with excellent attention to detail from the staff who comes daily to refresh the room perfectly and leave fresh filtered water and a treat every evening. Relaxing in the warm pool/hot tub in the evening to watch the sunset with a glass of wine was divine, and it let the kids get their last energy out before a very restful sleep. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and there were plenty of outlets, great sink area counter space, a mini fridge for drinks, and plenty of storage space for clothing and suitcases. We were steps from the playground so the kids could climb and swing and make new friends easily. We felt so welcomed by the wonderful staff here all week - Carlos on the beachfront and in the restaurant, German and Rogelio in the restaurant, Jairo in the restaurant and at a wine tasting class, Esteban the concierge who helped arrange many elements of our stay in advance, Chef Jacob for a Tortilla and salsa class, and Chef Bonilla at the Chef's table dinner, among many others. The beachfront cabana beds were plentiful and comfy, and I enjoyed having plenty of shade. The beach is kept meticulously clean. My kids felt so comfortable here and enjoyed going back and forth between the playground and the waves. There were some beach toys on site as well for all kid shoveling needs. We also got to switch things up and go into the beautiful serene pink pool upstairs which we had to ourselves most times we visited. The restaurant was fantastic, and we enjoyed many special activities here - Chef's Table dinner which was outstanding with so many fine details and flavors and incredible drink pairings, wine tasting class upstairs in the beautiful Frida lounge with 4 lovely full glasses of wine and a gorgeous cheese plate, and a tortilla and salsa making class which ended with a huge tray of delicious tacos to enjoy with the tons of salsas that we just made. I would do all of these activities again. I definitely recommend contacting the concierge in advance who helped us arrange comfortable private transport to and from the airport, all of the activities at the hotel above, and one of our favorite tours off site with an excellent guide at BTM (separate company) to Akumal and a cenote. La Zebra is truly family friendly which seemed very much not to be the case for many of the luxury hotels in the area. There were many families staying there with kids ranging from babies to teens, and we also saw lots of adults only groups having fun on the beach or at the big dinners with live music. It was so much less stressful to feel like the kids were invited and encouraged to play. Also, having a playground and giant swing between the trees is a great idea steps from the restaurant so they can be excused while the parents get to enjoy the rest of the meal."

"This hotel is nothing short of amazing. The grounds were immaculate, the service was impeccable, the staff was friendly, helpful, and professional...and the food experiences we will remember forever. As mentioned, the grounds were immaculate, and the decor was bright and fun. The beach cabanas and water are straight out of a movie. The resort is great for couples and, at the same time, very family-friendly. We initially planned numerous excursions and other off-site activities, but once we arrived, we only left the resort for dinner a few nights and shopping during the day. It's so wonderful you don't need or want to leave. We were greeted by Juan Carlos and Lucy when we checked in, and they were so helpful throughout the stay. Before arrival, they were very responsive to our questions about the area, restaurants, and potential excursions. During our stay, they were a delight to visit with and always provided top-notch guidance on our questions. The food at Le Zebra was unbelievably good. You have to experience The Chef's Table, it's a must. Chef's Table is an eight-course tasting menu with beverage pairings and is great value. We hesitated initially because of the price, but we realized it also included tax and service fees, so the meal cost was roughly $140 USD per person. We were also still trying to figure out the conversion rates. The experience was worth every penny and was our favorite meal of the trip. To put this into perspective, we also ate at three Michelin-star restaurants (ARCA, Casa Banana, and Hartwood) within walking distance from the hotel. Chef Eleazer and Chef Jacobo are masters of their craft and their passion for the culinary arts is present during every interaction. They presented each of the eight courses and detailed the local ingredients and historical significance in the local cultures. It was so fun. Ulises was our server during Chef's Table and also throughout numerous breakfasts, lunches and cocktail hours. He was so friendly, bright and cheerful it was an absolute joy to meet him. When we had to say goodbye it felt like we were leaving a friend. We also took advantage the Tortilla and Salsa class. Chef Jacobo led us during this experience, and he was so much fun. Again, the culinary passion and joy he brought to the experience was just as good as the fresh salsa, tortillas and mojito. Additionally, while we were there, we had access to the sister property next door, Lula. We used the workout facilities, took a cold plunge, and enjoyed breakfast one day. It was also excellent. There was so much more to do at both properties; we just didn't have time during our 6 days, which sounds crazy. I can't say enough good things about this property, the staff, and the overall experience. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!"

"My partner and I looked at SO many options before booking La Zebra. We wanted to experience Tulum in a relaxed way. After reading reviews (like this one, I hope!), we landed on La Zebra thanks to its humble, family-friendly, safe, and gorgeous location. A week or two before our stay, the concierge WhatsApped asking if we had any questions, needed transportation, or wanted help booking activities/restaurants. This was incredibly helpful and made us feel so welcome. Arriving at La Zebra is like a dream. The staff immediately welcomes you with complimentary drinks and gives you a quick tour of the grounds. Our room was SPOTLESS, big, and gorgeous for the two of us. The bed was very comfortable, the AC worked like a charm and the shower, well, I'll let you see for yourself. My partner was on the fence about getting the plunge pool LOL we used it every single day, multiple times a day. The staff maintained the water, foot bath, and area around the pool. This is your sign: get the plunge pool. Each room opens to the direction of the ocean, with a few overlooking the ocean. We didn't get a room with a view, but in fact, we liked it better because it offered us the privacy we wanted. All plunge pool rooms are on the ground floor-- it's like walking out into paradise. The staff is incredible, warm, hardworking, and so friendly-- the waiters, cabana crew, front desk, room service, and everyone in between. The food is SO FRESH, local, and made with love. "We just returned from the most amazing birthday celebration at La Zebra Hotel in Tulum, and I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. From the moment we booked, the hospitality was already above and beyond. I was in contact with Lucy from the concierge team for weeks, even months, leading up to the trip - planning transportation, excursions, and more. Her patience, attention to detail, and warmth set the tone for everything that followed. The rooms were beautiful and clean. But what really stood out was the exceptional service. One morning, we had an early tour before the restaurant opened, and the staff packed lunches for us last minute. I had a last minute change in transportation to the airport and Esteban and I spoke about this extremely late at night on WhatsApp, and he handled everything smoothly, with no stress. He was kind, responsive, and incredibly helpful. Throughout our stay, David, Esteban, Lucy, and Ricardo, were amazing. Rosa was wonderful as well! Every server, bartender, and staff member we encountered at the restaurant was so kind, attentive, and genuinely happy to be there. The whole team made this trip incredibly special. "This place is paradise! We stayed for a week in the Beachfront Plunge Pool room and we couldn't be happier with our choice. La Zebra is truly a luxury boutique hotel with the ideal location, impeccable hospitality and delicious food. The room was beautifully decorated and the housekeeping staff kept it sparkling clean through our stay. The turndown service was a warm touch and we really appreciated the little surprise treats every evening. The room came with a reserved beach bed which was amazing. The beach bar staff were so friendly and prompt with keeping our mezcalita glasses full! We loved the restaurant as well. Special thanks to Felipe, Roger and German who were all so polite, knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. Another great perk is we could walk to the neighboring Lula hotel and get resident rates on their wellness classes (AMAZING studio!) and fantastic spa treatments. We also appreciate La Zebra promoting local artists by displaying their vibrant pieces on the property. We will definitely be visiting again! No complaints!"

"We loved our stay at La Zebra! The rooms are chic and comfortable, the food is great (and probably the best coffee bar in Tulum right in the hotel!). The staff is absolutely incredible, so attentive and helpful, while not too intrusive when trying to relax on the beach. Special thanks to Francisco for the amazing first impression during check in, helping us get settled, and to Isaias who helped arrange a last minute scuba and snorkel tour in a nearby cenote. We were met with such kindness from the entire staff. I cannot recommend this place more and would love to come back soon! Our first night the A/C was not working well, but the next day Carlos quickly resolved the issue. The pool upstairs was pretty disappointing (not sure if it was even open) and the pool bar didn't appear to be staffed at all. Finally, during our stay the seaweed was pretty bad, which made it difficult to enjoy the beach. Although this is not within the control of the hotel, they did their best in removing as much of it as they could. Just mentioning it here for future customers to be aware of seaweed season in this part of Mexico."
